So, it was finally back down to 40f and I thought I'd give the Flume a go. I was worried about the heavy stitching and how it would feel against the skin, that worry was unfounded. Despite the heavy stitching, the fabric felt great. I was impressed by the wind blocking from a base layer, there was a stiff breeze and most of it was stopped by the shirt.
The top was too warm for the temperature, I'd say I'll start wearing it when it is below freezing from now on. The one problem I had, and it could be a personal one, was the narrowness of the sleeve cuffs. I like to slide long sleeve shirts cuffs up my forearms, usually nearly to my elbow. With the Flume my forearms are too big and the cuffs too rigid to allow that. I got them about half way up my arm and that was it. All in all a great baselayer for cold weather, I'll likely get one for my wife as she runs cold compared to me.
Great shirt but at 6'2" 185 the medium's sleeves too short and the large is a little baggy for a base layer. Medium long would be awesome for us tall thin types...
I gifted this to my husband for his birthday. It is SO soft, true to size, and a beautiful color. He says he will wear it as a base layer and a mid layer. He wears a large and is 6ft, 185lbs.
The crewneck is a wonderful addition to the Flume base layers. Comfortable and breaths great underneath a neck gaiter.
I was skeptical, but I'm a believer now. I use this shirt while snowmobiling and absolutely think it's the best layer ever. All places should have this on their shelves. Don't second guess yourself, just get it👍
