Lincoln, New Hampshire, the heart of the White Mountains:

Testimonial

“Fit was exceptional. I haven't found a soft shell in at least 6 years that fit as well. The length staying in my harness or under my pack straps. I actually never thought about it all day. I can't say how important that is.

The breathability was fantastic. One pitch on Saturday I got pretty sweaty and wet from water. By the time I finished belaying the pitch I was nearly dry. I was way more comfortable in this garment because I got dry so quickly than almost any other ice climbing day I've had in awhile.

This was also a big factor on Mt. Washington. We had a big group and I did a lot of moving up and down the line which made me hot, but I dryed so fast that I never got the "chill".  Even during breaks I didn't get the sweaty cold back.”

Why

The weather in the White Mountains can be quite harsh, wet and changes rapidly.  The White Mountains outdoor enthusiast needs a softshell that is warm, water repellent and expels moisture.  You might be breaking a sweat the first hour out from the trailhead, then transition to cooler temperatures and light snow mid-mountain.  On the ridges and summits the wind might pick up and you need your hood and integrated balaclava to stay warm. In short, you want the correct layers without going through a wardrobe change every hour.

How

Washington, another NH 4000 footer or just around town, our Washington Softshell will keep you warm -- while venting out excess moisture and keeping you dry in snow and rain.  Pairs well with our Franconia Mid Layer and Flume and Bond Base Layers.
