Stay warm on the mountain and in style off it.  Our Bond Mid Layer features Polartec® Thermal Pro™ which will keep you warm and our designs will make you the talk of apres ski or hike.  Pair with our Flume Base Layer Crewneck for a splash of layering color when you unwind.  Works functionally as a sweater pullover for nights on the town as well.

Sustainability: US domestic production ensures compliance with high environmental standards, a cleaner electrical grid, more efficient transportation infrastructure, as well as reducing the overall distance (and carbon footprint required) to move through a global supply chain.  The material is Bluesign certified.  In addition, Lyocell is a natural fiber, and our light blue material is comprised of 100% first-quality deadstock material.

Worker Standards: The Bond 1/4 Zip is handstitched by the Burgeon production team in Lincoln, New Hampshire.  Burgeon follows all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that protect our employees.  Burgeon production team members also enjoy flexible working hours, paid time off (vacation, sick, safe), and all ten federal holidays.  Burgeon covers 100% of healthcare premiums for all employees who average 30+ hours per week.  All Burgeon production team members are eligible for a monthly bonus based on our sales.  5% of the sales of the Bond 1/4 Zip go directly into this bonus pool.
5% for our Community and Environment

5% of the purchase price of this product will benefit our community and environmental efforts.  These efforts include trail maintenance, working with local non-profits and organizations, as well as our carbon mitigation efforts.

We maintain three (Old Bridle Path, Pine Link, Willey Range) trails in the White Mountains in partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Club. In the past year, we have also donated time, resources, and money to organizations such as New England Disabled Sports, Pemi Search and Rescue, Lakes Region Search and Rescue, the Linwood Rotary, Linwood Ambulance, as well as local community centers in Lincoln, Franconia, and Lisbon, NH.

Spring Skiing and Lounging

I have had this shirt for over a year now, maybe longer. I've used it mainly to lounge around in an old drafty house in the winter time - it keeps you toasty and the outside layer is soft and comfortable and the fleece lining is cozy. I'd never skied in it and for reasons I can't explain, on a whim I threw it in the ski bag on a trip to utah a few weeks ago. We had a 50 degree day at Solitude with full sun and I ended up skiing in a base layer and this top along with a buff and gloves. This quarter zip was amazing - warm enough on the lift, but breathable enough skiing hard. I was comfortable at all times. The thumbholes were useful to prevent any gap between shirt and glove. But the main thing was that it was so light and comfortable and it moves with you and breathes. I was astonished at how well it performed on a day where we hammered it. It will no longer just be a lounge shirt for me!! The experience actually using this for what it was made for prompted me to write this review - I usually don't do reviews. This company is terrific - customer service is outstanding, products are outstanding (I have a highlander and a sunseeker as well and my wife and kids have highlanders). Plus its all made here in the Granite State! Yes, its not the cheapest quarter zip you can buy, but the product is unique, it performs great, its versatile (it looks equally good on the slopes as it does at a restaurant) and its a company worth supporting. Thanks Burgeon! And don't even think about it, just buy this shirt.

Nice shirt wish I sized up

I wish the description recommended sizing up as it fits fairly snug. I am 5'8" 175lbs and I bought a medium. The fabric feels nice and the color was great. I do think it is over priced for what you are getting. I do recommend trying other products. The Highlander hoodie is a pretty good value.

Garment has a velvety smooth lining that really gives it an edge as a mid-layer. I wear it often as the weather cools and sometimes it seems I take it off only for showers and sleep! Like the Flume base layer, this is now a fixture in my backcountry wardrobe.

This is an excellent garment for backcountry use. The tencel fabric is soft to the touch and wicks and warms very nicely. I find the size runs true. Great garment from a wonderful smaller company that gives back to the trails.

...the grey color of the bond 1/4 zip
layer is unique. the fabric is super comfortable with plush on the inside.
as a base layer it is perfect.
if worn over a typical cotton tee however the stitching on the plush side sticks to the tee. otherwise i would give a 5 star review.
