This is a must if you want a quality, multi use hoody for active layering. Layered it under a sun hoody for a treck to the summit of San Jacinto on 10/15. Was perfect in the 40's all day. Recommend sizing up. I wear M, but ordered L and fit is perfect for me. 5'10'' 155 lbs.
I visited the burgeon store in Lincoln a few weeks ago and purchased this hoodie in black as well as a microgrid fleece. My fiancé also bought a microgrid fleece. This is my first alpha direct fabric purchase so I was absolutely pumped!!!! The same day I bought it, I packed it in my trail running pack and set out to do Wiley mountain (Franconia Ridge State park) at sunset. As I reached higher elevations I found myself getting cold after sweating/running the ascent (yes I did the stairs/ladders AT route), it was 30s-40s at the summit without wind. Immediately put on a thin smartwool hoodie with the alpha direct over it - WOW I felt like I just put on a 800 fill down jacket. I got so hot on the descent I had to take it off. Never underestimate the power of this fabric!!! While I wish it wasn't made with polyester or fragile fibers, I would buy it again. Now my real question is can someone make an alpha fabric with merino or natural fibers??
Bought this recently - great for the outside when the temps are in the 50s and you're moving about. I lift with it and it's a great work out hoodie (not sure they intended that use case!) I'll definitely buy more
Love this jacket. Waterproofing definitely works. Moves with you. Deep pockets so stuff doesn't fall out if you sit. Neck gaiter/mask is built into the hood is a nice touch. I wear it all the time (Live in northern Ohio on the lake)
I have worn the Alpha 90 on three hikes in Acadia and it performed perfectly as a layer.
It's thin, packable, warm, breathable and supporting Burgeon and AMC at the same time is totally rad. The rec is clear to size up - definitely size up 1 size. I love the green color.
Super light but also very warm. Love it
I wanted to get a good, lightweight layer that was easy to adjust to the fluctuating temperatures we get in the spring and fall. This hoodie is perfect for that and is nice and lightweight. This hoodie is likely to be in heavy rotation, and fits nicely in my pack if I have to take it off.
Great product. Fit was good, but the arm sleeves were a bit tight. Very warm.
The hoodie is super versatile. Obviously you can wear it casually with whatever and the colors really pop. It also is great out on a trail. On its own its breathable but warm enough, especially when you're moving. The snap at the neck helps too. And if you need to bundle up more, throwing a layer on top to cut the wind really makes it trap warmth. Plus it's super light. Follow the sizing advice on the website though, I'm 5'11" and 170 pounds with a 40.5" chest and normally a medium in everything. The large fits perfectly and a medium would be way too small.
I work at a grocery store and I wear this often to stay warm in the cooler and freezer. It's really comfortable!
I like this a lot. I can see why a lot of hikers like this. If you need to carry a lot of stuff on the trails, do bring this one, it’s super light but very warm. I can’t wait to wear it on the trails during the late fall and winter!

Went to store in person. Great experience helpful staff. Really like material and craftsmanship. Hoodie is a little too warm for fall hiking, but think it will be perfect for skiing. Slightly small with the sizing ( the large fits- it is not loose or baggy)
I’ve worn this hoodie in some capacity every day for the past 12 days. The hoodie is very lightweight and surprisingly warm. I am 5’9” and typically wear a women’s large. I contacted the store with sizing questions and the sales associate was very helpful. I opted for the unisex large, and it fits perfectly - I like my clothes, a bit on the looser side.
